Today enjoy a free day to explore Christchurch - wander the city admiring the street art or jump on the tram and head to the Botanic Gardens or Riverside Market.
After an introductory tour of Christchurch head to Lake Tekapo to see the brilliant turquoise water. You will also see the Church of the Good Shepherd and the famous Sheep Dog Statue on your travels. Marvel at the spectacular mountain ranges, including Mt Cook, New Zealand's highest peak. Time and weather permitting, you may be able to take an optional scenic flight over the Southern Alps (extra cost), before travelling on to Omarama.

Today see Lake Benmore, and follow the Waitaki River to Oamaru, famous for its limestone. Enjoy a city sights tour of Dunedin, before a Scottish evening with bagpipes, traditional food, and a special Haggis Ceremony.

Visit Larnach Castle and hear about its tragic and scandalous history on a guided tour. Wander the Garden of International Significance and enjoy a delicious Devonshire Tea. Then you'll travel through Balclutha and Gore to picturesque Te Anau, the gateway to the Fiordland. This afternoon you may like to take an optional visit to the mesmerising Te Anau Glowworm caves (extra cost).

Explore the spectacular Milford Sound on a leisurely cruise, followed by a visit to see Bowen Falls and towering Mitre Peak where you'll enjoy a picnic lunch. After lunch you'll head to Queenstown, overlooking magical Lake Wakatipu. With two nights at this year-round resort, there is a wide range of activities and attractions on offer. This evening you can choose where you want to dine, and with many fine restaurants in town there's plenty of choices to tempt your tastebuds.

Today is free to discover the magic of Queenstown. If you're wanting an exciting experience, book an adrenaline jolting jet boat ride, or take a heritage tour to Skippers Canyon. This evening, you'll board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw and cruise across Lake Wakatipu to enjoy a gourmet barbecue dinner at Walter Peak Homestead. After dinner, enjoy a short farm tour before re-boarding the steamship for a sing-a-long by the piano as you cruise back to Queenstown.
Today you'll travel to Arrowtown and visit the Lakes District Museum and then continue via the Haast Pass to the mighty West Coast, an area of stunning beauty. There's plenty of photo opportunities when you spot the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps as you travel to the Fox Glacier for your overnight stay. Time is available (weather permitting) to take a scenic flight over the spectacular glaciers (extra cost).

Visit the Greenstone Factory in Hokitika where you can purchase something special as a momento of your trip, and then continue to Arthur's Pass to board the TranzAlpine train. During this exciting train journey, you'll view the diverse landscape of rivers and valleys as you travel through the Waimakariri Basin and through the farmlands of the Canterbury Plains. On arrival in Christchurch, your coach will meet you and transfer you to your hotel for your overnight stay.

Today travel along the East Coast to the pretty seaside village of Kaikōura. Enjoy the scenery of the Marlborough Country, famous for its delicious food and wine, before boarding the InterIslander Ferry at Picton for your crossing of Cook Strait to the eclectic and vibrant city of Wellington.

This morning visit the National Museum where the highlight will be the Gallipoli: A Scale of War exhibition. Cutting edge technology brings these stories to life through the eyes of New Zealanders. Enjoy an extensive tour to learn about the history and culture of this city, and then the rest of the afternoon and evening are free to choose your own dining arrangements from the many popular city restaurants.
Today depart Wellington and view the snow-capped peaks of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Tongariro as you travel to Lake Taupo. You'll visit the breathtaking Huka Falls, before continuing on the Thermal Explorer Highway to Rotorua, famous for its geothermal mud pools and hot springs.
Overnight: Sudima Hotel Lake Rotorua, 2 nights
This morning you'll dine 'in the sky' by taking a gondola ride to breakfast at Skyline Rotorua, followed by a thrilling luge ride. Visit Agrodome for some farming entertainment, and Te Puia to see the boiling mud pools. The day will be topped off with an entertaining and memorable Mãori Hãngi and Concert.
Travel through Auckland and Whangarei, and finish at Paihia, the heart of the Bay of Islands, where you will enjoy a short tour of the area.
Overnight: Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge, 2 nights
This morning cruise to Cape Brett and see the famous Hole in the Rock. Return to Paihia to relax by the waterfront or join an optional activity (extra cost). Dinner is your own choice tonight.
On your travels to Auckland, stop at the Kauri Museum for an informative talk, and enjoy a city tour of Auckland on arrival. This evening join Shirley and the group for a final farewell dinner and to share your favourite memories and photos of your trip.
Overnight: Rydges Auckland
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home after your memorable 17 day New Zealand holiday.
