Itinerary

This morning make your way to East Perth Station to board the Indian Pacific. Settle into your Gold Service cabin, and enjoy the meals, beverages and facilities available to you. Later this evening, after dinner, you will arrive in Kalgoorlie where you can join your offtrain excursion to the Hannan’s North Tourist Mine. Learn about the Golden Mile and the thriving days of the gold rush period. Have your photo taken by a dump truck, and see the oversized ‘Super Pit’, the world’s largest single open cut mining operation which continues to recover the precious metal. At the end of the tour, return to the Indian Pacific to continue your overnight journey.

Overnight: Indian Pacific, 3 nights

Early this morning the train will stop at a siding in Rawlinna, where you can disembark to watch the sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast. Continue your journey across the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, and stop at Cook, once a thriving railway town but now considered a ghost town. Spend the afternoon in your cabin watching the world go by, or head to the lounge car to make new friends and listen to the live entertainer.

This morning choose one of the tours in Adelaide. There’s a Central Market Progressive Breakfast, where you will meet stall owners, try tasty samples and discover the 140 year old food and culture centre of Adelaide. Or if sport is more your thing, enjoy a behind the scenes look at Adelaide Oval, discover the hidden secrets and relive celebrated moments of this iconic sporting facility. Then it's back on the Indian Pacific to continue your journey east. On arrival into Broken Hill, the off train experiences include the magnificent Drag Queens performing at the Palace Hotel, made famous in Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Or if local art is more your thing, you may like to visit Broken Hill's Regional Art Gallery, or see the much loved "Big Picture", housed in the Silver City Mint and Art Centre.

This morning you may like to enjoy an off train excursion in the Blue Mountains - visit the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains, where you can take the scenic Prince Henry Cliff Walk, the perfect location to see the spectacular Jamison Valley and iconic Three Sisters. A light lunch at The Lookout Restaurant is included, before continuing your rail journey to Central Station. Alternatively you may prefer to travel straight through to Sydney.

Overnight: Veriu Sydney Central or similar, 3 nights

Today travel around Sydney Harbour using your Hop On Hop Off Explorer pass. Departing from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour, you can visit such places as Taronga Zoo, Manly, Watsons Bay, Luna Park, Shark Island or Barangaroo. Entry fees to some of these locations are an additional cost.

This evening enjoy Sydney Harbour’s signature dinner cruise aboard the MV Sydney 2000. Feast on a 4 course contemporary Australian a la carte menu, with the lights of Sydney as your spectacular backdrop. Live music and dancing will keep you entertained as you cruise for 3.5 hours around the Harbour.
