Itinerary

On arrival in Perth, make your way to your accommodation and the rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the city at your leisure.

Enjoy the short stroll from the city centre to Kings Park, a popular spot with both locals and tourists. The park is filled with tall trees, stunning bushland, lakes and sculpted gardens. It contains the Western Australian Botanic Garden and is also home to the state’s War Memorial and the Flame of Remembrance. Plus, the views back over the Swan River to the city are magnificent.

Or if sports are your thing, join a tour of Australia’s newest state of the art stadium, Optus Stadium. Voted as the Most Beautiful Sports Facility in the World in the Prix Versailles 2019 international architecture awards, the multi-purpose stadium hosts a variety of sports and entertainment events. Wander around the precinct and stay on to enjoy one of the many restaurants or have a quiet beer at Australia’s largest pub, The Camfield - with 175 beers on tap, there’s sure to be one that takes your fancy!

Did you know that Perth is the only Australian capital city where you can explore a wine region by river?

Today you get to relax and enjoy a leisurely river cruise to the amazing Swan Valley wine region.

Swan River, Captain Cook Cruises, Wine

You will travel upstream on the Swan River to Swan Valley. When you arrive, you will be welcomed at Sandalford Estate where you will be taken on an exclusive tour of the winery, followed by wine tastings and a delicious two course lunch. After a relaxing lunch the crew will provide live entertainment and tantalising desserts to keep you smiling during your return to Perth.

Today you have a free day to explore Perth or why not venture further to Fremantle (Freo). Trains run from Perth Station every 20 minutes, and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the popular seaside suburb, Freo.

Take one of the tours of the Fremantle Prison, and learn about the history of this maximum security gaol from 1887 to 1991. Or put on a hardhat and descend below the prison to explore the labyrinth of tunnels built by the prisoners.

The WA Maritime Museum is also worth a visit. Housing several galleries, with a range of exhibitions, you can also see the winning America’s Cup yacht, Australia II, and the Oberon calls submarine - the HMAS Ovens.

Freo is fast becoming a foodie’s haven and there are so many options to stop for lunch or dinner. From cafes and funky bars, to fish and chips by the marina or a beer and burger at the iconic Little Creatures brewery, there is sure to be something to tempt everyone’s tastebuds.

Fremantle, Little Creatures

Today you will meet the happiest little animal on earth, the quokka, on the Rottnest Island Bayseeker Package. You will be collected and transferred to Barrack Street Jetty to join your ferry to Rottnest Island.

Rottnest Island is Perth’s closest island paradise with amazing beaches and bays. You can spend time snorkelling, cycling, swimming, Segway or simply walk leisurely around at your own pace.

You will have time to explore the many beautiful spots and get your own smiling Quokka selfie before you join an afternoon coach tour of the island.

The coach tour will explain the colonial and maritime history of Rottnest Island. You will see some of the amazing flora and fauna, including seals, quokkas, and bird spotting, lakes and lighthouses, before meeting back up for the return voyage back to Perth.
